Your client list is the business
For a limo company, the client list is often the most valuable thing it owns: years of corporate accounts, assistants' phone numbers, preferred vehicles and pickup habits. Bringing in a part-time dispatcher, a new hire on probation or a partner's office should not mean handing all of it over on the first day.
One switch per dispatcher
Each dispatcher's panel in LimOperations has a Share full client list switch. When it is on, that dispatcher sees every client of the business, as before. When it is off, they see only the clients they added themselves. The setting is saved the moment you flip it and applies to that dispatcher alone, so two dispatchers can work side by side with different access.
What changes when it is off
With the switch off, the dispatcher's Clients page lists only their own clients, the client picker in the booking form offers only those, and a booking for any other client is refused. Opening another client's page by its address does not work either. The rest of their work is unchanged: they still see the schedule and handle bookings and dispatch.
Dispatchers can add new clients from the plus button on their Clients page and from the booking form, and those clients are recorded as theirs. Changing or deleting a client stays with the business owner.
When to keep it on, and when not
Keep the full list shared for a trusted office team that books for any client on any shift. Switch it off for a dispatcher who handles one segment, such as a person who builds a new wedding or events book, a trial period, or someone working for you from outside the company. You can turn it back on at any time without losing anything.
Plans and set-up
Dispatcher accounts are part of the Scaler plan, and the switch is on for every dispatcher until you change it. Review it whenever someone joins, changes role or leaves, alongside the rest of their access.
Client access checklist
- Decide for each dispatcher whether they need every client.
- Switch it off for trials and outside staff.
- Let dispatchers add the clients they bring in.
- Keep client edits and deletions with the owner.
- Review the switch when someone changes role.
